Today, we are working Psalm 3. Psalm 3 is used to conquer fears, to relieve stress and tension, and to relieve headaches and backaches. Today, I'm going to gear Psalm 3 for feeling safe about the future, putting the future in the safe hands of the infinite. The way we work psalm magic is very simple, easy, and effective.
We take the psalm in question and we recite it out loud all the way through once without stopping. After we finish that incantation, we go back through the psalm and we consider each verse in turn, and we search for hidden or occult meanings that lie behind each of those verses. By doing this, searching, digging, and then also applying the wisdom that we find there to whatever the situation is that we've brought to the psalm, we are in effect taking the magic seeds of wisdom and planting them in the depths of our mind where they take root.
They grow, they blossom forth, and they bear fruit after their kind. And that's exactly what we are going to do together right now with Psalm 3. Lord, how are they increased that trouble me? Many are they that rise up against me. Many there be which say of my soul there is no help for him in God, Selah. But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill, Selah. I laid me down and slept, I awaked, for the Lord sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people that have set themselves against me round about. Arise, O Lord, save me, O my God, for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheekbone, thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
Salvation belongeth unto the Lord. Thy blessing is upon thy people. In our witches psalter, I've included some traditional angels associated with this psalm. And the traditional angels aren't the angel that I would associate with this psalm personally. I would associate the Archangel Samael with this psalm.
When we are addressing the Lord or God in the psalms, sometimes we will remind ourselves that the Lord in the psalms translates to the Tetragrammaton. And that God translates to Elohim. And it's interesting to know that because it helps us contextually understand. But they both mean the same thing for us as magicians.
They don't mean anything specific to a religion. They mean the one power, the one force, the one source and the one substance of all the universe. Now, it's interesting because I will frequently get emails or comments on the videos correcting me about this. And you have to understand that when we work psalms, we're working psalms as magicians.
So the psalms speak to us. And to correct me about the psalm is similar to try to correct me about my interpretation of a tarot card. The way the psalms speak to me is the way they speak to me. And the same should be for you. You don't have to take my interpretation, but you do need to make them your own, and they do need to be magical.
So we are magicians, not religious people when we deal with this psalm. So, when I say they or their, when I'm speaking of the One Power, the One Force, the Source, the Substance of all the Universe, it angers people. You can't say they if you mean One. Yes, I can, and I do, because it makes more sense to me.
There's a unity and a plurality in the One Source, the One Force, the One Substance in all the Universe. Just like the idea of white light. Within that white light, there's also a rainbow. Christians say, Father, Son, Holy Spirit, they talk of the Trinity, but they still mean a oneness. They could see those as three separate gods, but they don't usually see them as three separate gods.
Even if I were speaking of different gods within a pantheon, in my mind, they are expressions of a unity. Have a oneness. So it's very important for us to orient ourselves to what the Lord actually means or what God actually means. Otherwise this is an empty gesture. It's got to be something very personal.
And for me, the one source, the one force, the one substance in all the universe, no matter how it expresses itself to me. Is one, and there's oneness. And through that oneness there is infinite power. And so whatever I bring to a Psalm, I know that my success is assured because there is only this one force no matter how I experience it.
Lord, how are they increased? That trouble me? Many are they that rise up against me. This is the first of the Psalms that starts to lament. And to give us a sense that life on earth is troublesome and that we can look to this one source, this one force, this one power in order for us to heal, correct, protect, and be safe within this world.
And so we are now calling upon that one power and acknowledging that there are forces within this world that are unsafe. But, when it says, how are they increased that trouble me, many are they that rise up against me, where is the source of the rising up against us? It's very tempting to say it's outside of us.
It's those people. But those people are symbols of something that's rising up against us within us. It says, how are they increased that trouble me? Many rise up against me. And that's what the ego is all about. The ego is all about many. The ego doesn't want you to believe and understand that it's a single thought.
The ego is a single thought of separation, and if we understand that, then all of the many that are rising up against us are evaporated. They don't exist anymore. Because we aren't separate from this one source, this one substance, this one true power, this one power, this one force. And if we understand that we aren't separate from it, then we don't have anything to worry about.
We don't have anything to fear in our future. But isn't that where fears always are centered about the future? What might be coming? Duck and cover, something bad is coming. So if we understand that we can place our future in the hands of this power, of this force, of this source, and keep us safe, then we no longer have to succumb to the temptations of that ego mind that is always telling us, you better be worried.
You better be afraid. Your future is not safe. Protect yourself, protect yourself, once we understand that it seems like there's many things for us to be afraid of, but there is nothing to fear. Because that voice is the voice that is trying to prove that we are separate from the very thing that we are one with.
Many there be which say of my soul, there is no help for him in God. See law. The voice of the ego seems to have many, many voices. Seems to have many reasons that you aren't one with God. That there is no help available to you. Oh yeah? The voice inside of our head says, oh yeah? What about this? What about that?
What about this? And it's up to us when those fears come up is to instead of trying to combat them ourselves or suppress them and pretend like they're not there to give them to this force and ask this force to prove to us that there's nothing to fear.
But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me, my glory and the lifter up of mine head. The infinite doesn't want you looking down at the ground, looking for Lauren. Also the infinite doesn't want you looking to the future or looking to the past because the infinite doesn't exist in the future and the past. And if you are preoccupied with the past, if you are preoccupied with the future, then you're preoccupied with the illusions of this world that aren't existing the way you think they are.
And you're looking everywhere for the infinite that the infinite does not exist. The infinite only exists in truth. Where does truth exist in time? In the present. In the present moment. In the moment of now. So but thou, O Lord, are a shield for me. So if you want to be shielded from your future, you must exist in the present moment.
Because that's where the Lord lives. You can't expect the Lord to fix your future or to fix your past. The only thing the Lord can heal is the present moment, but the mystical unveiling of what the present moment is, is that is how you heal your past. That's how you're protected in the future by keeping your mind centered where the infinite exists in the present moment.
Now it's telling you the infinite is your glory. What's your glory? Glory is that which glows. It's your aura. It's your soul, the energetic reality of who you are that exists beyond your body, beyond your personality, beyond time and space. Your glory is one with the glory of God. It's the same thing.
You're an extension of God. And we think about the glory of God as being so amazing and we're just, like it says here, looking down. We're just nothing, poor peasants. And that's incorrect. That's incorrect thinking. And it's alluding to that when it's saying that the glory of God lifts up your head. Why would that be?
To recognize that your glory and its glory are the same power. The only difference is that it created you. You didn't create it. That's the only difference between you and God. So you're the same kind of creature as God, but you're living in an existence that is as if you're separate from that. And that's what this world is.
This world is a projection of our ego minds trying to prove to us that there is no God. That you are separate, that you are alone, you are vulnerable and the future is not safe for you. I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill, Silah. Just as a reminder, Silah is a musical direction, and it means to pause.
And so when we see Silah, it's trying to get us to really integrate what was just said, to just really think about that thing. So, I cried unto the Lord with my voice. You can cry unto the Lord with your physical voice, and that's absolutely fine. But it's important to understand that your voice, in this sense, means your will.
You are taking your will and you're calling out, you're making the first step. And that's essential, because the infinites got this rule that it doesn't interfere with your free will. But if your will is that you be helped by the infinite, the infinite responds to that because it's one of the qualities of the divine is responsiveness.
But you've got to take the first step. So I cried unto the Lord with my voice. And when it puts it in the past tense, it speeds it up. You've already done this at saying, so I've cried unto the Lord with my voice. And he heard me out of his holy hill. His holy hill is the place that exists within you, where you and the infinite are.
One. When the infinite seems to be hiding, it's because we've forgotten to call out with our voice. In other words, we've forgotten that our will must be to connect with this forest, must be to recognize our oneness with this force. And until we do that, it sits in its Holy hill waiting patiently for us. I laid down and slept.
I awaked for the Lord sustained me. When you lie down and sleep in this regard, it means that you're dreaming. It's not that you're sleeping so that you can be refreshed, it means that you're sleeping being unconscious to the truth about who you are, who the infinite is, what the world is, what your power is, how vulnerable you are, how vulnerable you aren't, all of those things.
So when you're asleep in this sense, you are dreaming the dreams of your ego. And when you cry out to the Lord, the Lord says, wake up. Once you awaken to the truth, then the Lord sustains you, but you can't expect the infinite to sustain you while you're insisting upon using your mind to dream about things that are the antithesis of the Lord sustaining you.
You can't do both. You can't say, I want to dream a dream of ego and separation, and I want to be one with you both at the same time. I want to go east and I want to go west at the same time. You can't do that. You have one or the other, you're either separate or you're one. So in order for you to recognize your oneness with the infinite, you have to wake up from the dream of separation.
And that's when you get all the help you need. Because when you wake up to your oneness with the infinite, you realize you don't even need help because you're already safe. You're already sustained. You are already as prosperous as you could possibly be in every sense of what that word means. I will not be afraid of 10, 000s of people that have set themselves against me round about.
It's using 10, 000 as a symbol. It doesn't matter what people are saying, what people are doing, what seems to be happening in the world about you. It can be as awful as the ego comes up with. It doesn't matter. You don't need to fear that because the content of your problems is no big deal to the infinite.
It doesn't say, Oh, that's too hard for me. I'd help you if it was easier, but no, I can't help you with that one. No, it understands that you're dreaming the dream of the ego and that if you awaken, you Then the infinite can help you because the infinite helps you understand and perceive things correctly.
And when you're perceiving things correctly, you realize that there's nothing too difficult for the infinite. Difficult and easy aren't concepts in the celestial realm. So I will not be afraid of 10, 000 people that have set themselves against me roundabout. I have nothing to fear. And remind yourself of that when you're worried about what's coming.
I have nothing to fear. Arise, O Lord, save me, O my God, for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheekbone. Thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly. Now this is a very ancient symbol. Everything back in the day was, if there is such a power that can handle anything, the way it'll handle it is by beating up my problems, by beating up my adversaries, by beating up whatever the problem happens to be.
Now, the Infinite's not going to beat anybody up for you. That's not the whole idea. But this is where the Samael imagery comes in. Samael is that angel of war. And what it's saying is when you have the desire to beat up your problems, when you have the desire to go out and just slash your problems, instead of beating up your problems and slashing your problems, give them to the Infinite and let it do the battle for you.
If you let the infinite do the battle for you, then all you have to do is relax and be at peace. Breaking the teeth of the ungodly, that's breaking the teeth of your ego. And your ego doesn't need to be fought. Your ego is dissolved, just like the darkness is dissolved when the light comes on. That's breaking the teeth of the ungodly.
It just gets dissolved as you relax. And you put your future in the hands of the infinite, and you're no longer feeding your future with fear. Instead, you're letting your future resolve itself. You're letting the ego dissolve within the presence of the peace that is the infinite. It's an interesting understanding that we're actually talking about peace when we're saying, Arise, O Lord, save me, O my God, for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheekbone.
Thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly. That means all my tension is dissolved in the presence of peace. And when it says, arise, O Lord, the Lord wasn't sleeping, but we are talking about arising ourselves. As we arise, it seems like the Lord arises. As we call out, it seems like the Lord responds, but it almost start with us.
So we have to be willing to be awakened from our slumber, from our dreams. And then it appears to us as if the Lord is arising. But the Lord was never sleeping. The Lord was just waiting patiently for us. Salvation belongeth unto the Lord. Thy blessing is upon thy people, Selah. It's so important to understand that it's not your job to save yourself.
It's not your job to know how to wake up. It's not your job to know how to fix your problems. It's not your job to know what to do with the future. It's not your job to know anything other than All I want is to understand that I'm already one with the infinite, and everything else is taken care of for me.
I don't have to do anything but want to be awake and want to understand that I'm one with the infinite. The rest of it is taken care of because salvation belongeth unto the Lord. Now, when we say salvation, it means whatever you brought to the psalm, whatever your problem happens to be. Amen. If you don't have food in your pantry, then food is your salvation.
If you're sick, healing is your salvation. If you're thirsty, water is your salvation. So whatever needs to happen in order for you to be, quote, saved from whatever you brought to the psalm, belongs to the Lord, belongs to this force. And once again, we are being reminded that all we have to do is align ourselves with this force in whatever way it reveals itself to us.
So don't worry about getting things right. Don't worry about the rules that other people tell you, God has to be this, or God has to be that, or you have to do this, or you have to do that. You have to know Hebrew, or you have to understand advanced magical concepts, et cetera. The force is beyond all that.
The infinite is beyond all of that and is not beholden to any of that. Those laws don't come from the infinite. The infinite is your creator. It extends itself as you. It loves you. It wants you happy. And it also has granted you freedom and free will to use your mind any way you want to. So it waits patiently for you and so you have to quote, cry out unto the Lord to get the ball rolling.
But then once you do that, you need to allow the Lord or this force to have the power and you don't pull it back into yourself again. You allow it to do the work for you. So you just keep coming back to the psalm each and every day until you get a sense of peace and certainty that whatever you've brought to the psalm is being taken care of.
And you'll get that little click, you'll know that all is well. And as soon as you know that, that means your spell has been cast and you don't even have to think about it anymore, let alone cast anymore for it, and you can just move on to something else. Thank you so much for spending some time with me today.
Until next time, blessed be.
