When I was a child, I was always told not to take the Lord's name in vain. I got the impression that meant don't say "Goddammit or don't say "Jesus Christ!" or something like that. That was really sinful and you might be punished for doing that. So I was very afraid for a long time not to take the Lord's name in vain because I didn't want God to curse me.

So I was very careful. As I became more educated in magic, I understood that was a misunderstanding of the meaning of that phrase. Don't take the Lord's name in vain what the ancient Magi we're always pointing towards. Was the idea that God or the creator, the force of the universe is omnipresent.

"There is no spot where God is not," Terry Cole Whitaker used to say.

Those of you who work Psalm Magic, understand that from a magical perspective what we understand the term "Lord" to mean as it's used in the Psalms. Lord is a moniker, and it's translated directly from the Hebrew YHVH Yud He Vav He--the Tetragrammaton, which was considered the proper name of God.

I came to understand as I grew in my studies that names of things in ancient scriptures, not just in the Bible, were ways to describe the nature of something, the qualities of something. But even if you're looking at it biblically, you can ask yourself, is yet Vahe, God's proper name? Didn't Moses one-on-one talk to this force in the story?

This force was depicted as a burning bush in the Bible story. Moses asked, what do we call you? What's your name? The voice didn't say, my name is Jehovah. It didn't say It's the Tetragrammaton. It said, my name is I am that. I am. Tell the people my name is. I am. We've spoken about this before, but it puts a whole new light on.

Don't take the name of the Lord in vain. It's not a religious prohibition. To not take the name of the Lord in vain is simply practical advice because the name of the Lord is I am. I am is the singular force of the universe. I am is the source of everything. And the question to ponder is, why does this force seem to give blessings to some people and not other people?

The answer to that is that the people who still see this force as being separate from them and not I am, don't have access to this force. You don't have access to something you disown if you don't understand that. The force of the entire universe is embodied in not just the words of, but the concept of I am.

You're praying to something that doesn't exist. If you conceptualize a deity or force as outside of you that may be able to give you something that you need, then you're praying to something that does not exist because that's not where I am lives. I am lives in the name. I am just as a refresher in that story, that voice, that source didn't say, you are.

They are. We are. I am. And if you want to call my name, you must call it by that name. I am. Anytime you start to say something that you don't want and you attach it to the name I am, you are taking the name of the Lord in vain. I am tired. I am angry, I am poor, I am broke. It's not that you're sinning and are going to be punished by some external force.

When you touch a hot stove, your finger gets burned. The so-called punishment or effect of your actions are built into the thing itself. There's no outside force saying, oh, touch a hot stove. Now you will be burned. And the same thing goes for this. Taking the name of the Lord in vain. Which is simply a practical instruction about how you can get what you want out of your life.

That's simply all that is. When you attach something to the name I am, you don't want, you are putting yourself in the energy of the very thing. You do not want.

The common misperception of any idea of God is that it's he, she they outside of me in some far away land called heaven. And I hope that the communication gets through. I hope my spell works. I hope my prayer works. I hope whatever technology I've come up with works to get my desire over to that force so that it can do something for me over here.

That's the misperception, and that goes for any kind of concept of deity, whether it's multiple gods and goddesses, whether it's angels, whatever your conception of God is. It's a misperception if you think that force or those forces are somewhere off in the distance because those forces, that force exists right within you.

In I am. The feelings of emptiness and disconnect that we go through life with come from a misperception that we are separate from the very source of life itself. God is not separate. God is not close to you. God is one with you. I like to use that image of a sunbeam being extended from the sun. The beam doesn't get disconnected from the sun and then go bopping off somewhere as a sunbeam all by itself.

There is no such thing as that in the same way. There is no such thing as you being separate from I am. But can we misuse the name of God? Absolutely. We do it all the time, but nobody teaches us. Now, I'm sure that this is not the very first time you've heard this. I'm sure that I'm not giving you brand new data.

I'm sure you've heard something along this line somewhere or another, but it behooves us to revisit this idea and ask ourselves, do we take the name of the Lord in vain on a regular basis? And if we do, is it a big mystery why we are getting what we don't want? Just take a moment and ask yourself, do I understand that I am, is the creative force of the entire universe, am I using I am or any of its cognates in a way that is counterproductive to my desires?

If so, good news, I've uncovered the secret of the universe. Every spoken or silent iteration of I am invokes the infinite invokes God invokes that force misusing. It is the cause of all experiences of lack, limitation, sickness, negative realities in our lives. Now, the ego mind will hear this and say, aren't you bad for doing that?

Look what you did. Look how awful you are. That's not the point of this. It's not to say how awful we are for misusing the name of God and that we deserve to be punished. It's, oh, I get it. Punishments. I. Are built into things, built into the law of cause and effect. And therefore, since I'm misunderstanding and misusing my own God-given power of I am, I can choose again.

I can use this in a new way. I can rethink this, I can reorient it. And by the way, don't believe me, you have to prove this to yourself. Believing another thing is not the point of this. It's giving you an opportunity to remember that you always have had. You have now and always will have the power of the infinite within you and that you don't have to go through an intermediary.

I am is your own power that you were given. This physical world is here as a helper to reflect back to us our own self-concepts, not what we wish for, not what we hope for, but what we truly believe. And if we are having our world reflect back to us. All of the ways in which we take the name of the Lord in vain, that's good news because these are ways that we can change our conception of ourselves, change our conceptions of this power and reorient ourselves to that name so that we can use it for our benefit and the benefit of the world.

Anytime we say I am afraid, anytime we say I am poor, anytime we say I am sick, it's not that we're sinning. It's that we're misusing our power. Now, that's not to say that we should go into denial about these things and say, no, I'm not experiencing what I'm experiencing. We're simply using our experience in the world to show us where we can reorient our use of this concept of the name of God, the name of the force of the universe, which is pre gender.

By the way. It's not a deity at all. It's nothing outside of us. That's the point. It's not up in heaven. Heaven is within us. It's not often some higher plane. The higher planes are within us. It's not out there. It is here. It is us. It is one with us being conscious of fear. Or lack while praying for abundance is what the Magi warned against, because it's not what you're praying for, it's not what you're affirming.

It's not what you're casting the spell for that the universe hears. I. The universe hears what you're conscious of. If you're constantly doing a spell based on, I hope I get this, or I wish I had that, or I'm going to get such and such, the deep mind is hearing, lack, lack, lack. What we learn how to do is instead of saying, I hope I get, or I would love to have some more money.

We learn to express the name of God as that which we desire, not. I am wealthy. I am wealth not. I am healthy. I am health. I am wisdom. I am that which I desire to be shifting our perception of the infinite as something very distant and outside of us that's going to grant us our wishes to the power that is at the core of our identity, not our ego identity, but that which existed before we ever had a name, before we ever had this body, before we ever had this story, before we ever had problems that need to be solved.

That I amness is the truth of you as that beam of light being extended from a central star. So you are one with all creation and you do have the power of all creation behind you. Shifting that perception is not a huge trip from one place to another. It's a very subtle thing that can happen, but it makes all the difference in the world when we declare I am with awareness and with intention.

I. If you're in a place where it's appropriate to do so, take a moment right now and close your eyes and take some deep breaths gently and silently. Repeat the phrase, I am without any descriptors. Just I am gently with no expectations. Feel this. I am as the foundation of your being.

Feel like you're returning to your true primal self when you recognize I am as the source of you and the source of all creation.

And then just come back out of that whenever you feel comfortable and open your eyes again. This kind of stillness is what I am gives you because I am is the source of all peace, and all peace is in the present moment. And in the present moment is where all magic happens. So when you connect with I am, you're connecting with the present moment where all peace exists.

Out of peace and in the present moment comes anything that needs to happen. Anything that needs to happen comes out of that, not from spinning our wheels, not from worrying about the future or having big goals regretting the past, worrying about being punished for our past mistakes, et cetera. All of our power exists in the I Am, which only lives in the present moment.

Otherwise, the name would be, I will be or I was, but that voice didn't tell Moses my name as I was or I will be. That voice told Moses that the name of the creator is I am. That is in the present moment, and that's where all magic exists. Replace for now, just as an exercise, phrases like I want. Or I hope or I wish or I will be or I was, or I used to with I am instead of I want to be healed.

I am health instead of, I wish I was more wealthy. I am wealth. I wish I hadn't done that. I am innocent. You're not trying to make things happen. When you do that, that's the essence of true magic, is that you're not trying to make things happen anymore. That's the ego. That's the ego mind, trying to make something happen that's rearranging the furniture.

We're not trying to rearrange the furniture. We are allowing ourselves to become one with the force of all creation and allow things. To rearrange themselves to reflect the truth that we are declaring. We're not making anything happen. The force is making things happen through us without any effort on our part.

You are affirming, but you're affirming what's already true. It's a process of erasing more than a process of creating at that point. You're replacing all of these vain imaginings, taking the Lord's name in vain that have been going on your entire life, and that everybody's taught you how to do throughout the entire existence in this world, and you're erasing them.

You're letting them go. You're allowing those illusions to disappear into the native nothingness from once they came in their place. You're allowing the truth of who you are to reveal itself to you. Of course, the universe wants you to be wealthy. Of course the universe wants you to be healthy. Of course, the universe wants you to be happy.

That's I am. Those things are your divine birthright. Aligning I am with the truth is how things resolve. You can resolve anything with this and you can create anything with this. You're doing it in the present moment out of a sense of your true identity, rather than trying to rearrange events outside of you based on hoping things will work out for you because you found the right affirmation or you found the right spell.

It's what the Magi we're always teaching. That power really does reside within you. You really are one with God. You really are one with the infinite because the name of the infinite is your name. I am after you declare I am about anything, you wear that energy as the truth. It's not just acting as if, although that is a step in the right direction.

It's knowing that's the truth. The physical world reflects the past. So if you're not seeing yet what you desire, it doesn't mean that it's not there. It means that the past is still being reflected. And where your existing is in the present moment. Your physical universe will reflect this as soon as it becomes manifest.

But this is that part of the witch's pyramid called faith, where you wear that energy, you wear that vibration of what it is that you desire, as if it's already an established fact because it is. The invisible world is the reality and the physical manifest world is a reflection of the past. It takes time in this world for the physical reality to catch up.

You're not deceived by appearances anymore. You understand that those appearances reflect things that are no longer true. It's just a matter of time for things to work themselves out. But your job is not to worry about that. Your job is to wear the reality of what you want as the vibration of your identity.

You don't declare your new reality and then go quickly check up on it. Did it happen yet? Did it happen yet? Because then you're not saying, I am. You're saying, I hope I wish, or I am not. We don't seek validation from external circumstances. We know we have that faith and that knowledge that things are working themselves out in a wonderful way.

And after you do this enough, it's not such a leap of faith anymore. Just like you don't hope that the elevator comes when you press the button. If it doesn't come, it's odd. Not that it can't ever not work, but it's usually unusual if the elevator doesn't come. It's usually unusual after you've placed your order at the restaurant for them not to make your food.

Those are mortal experiences, which are subject to error. I am is not subject to error. It's not a mortal experience. So if you can have faith that the elevator comes and that was created by mortal people in the mortal world, which is subject to being broken down and having mistakes, imagine the amount of certainty that you can have once you build up this understanding that I am won't ever fail you and that you don't need to check on it.

It's just a matter of knowing that the manifestation is in process. The ancient magi taught that God and man are not separate. Humanity and divinity are not separate. Remembering your oneness with the source transforms your reality. I am is the key to doing that. Every time you say I am, you're aligning with the creative source of all that is.

If you're aligning with the creative source of all that is, and then stating something that's not true, then you're creating illusions for yourself, and that's taking the name of the Lord in vain. And again, it's not something to feel guilty about. It's not a sin that's going to be punished. It's simply showing you where you're making a mistake and then you learn how to stop that.

You learn how to stop attaching. I am to things you don't want. Every time you say I am, you align with the source of all that is so sitting in silence and repeating, I am with no descriptors like you did, is a wonderful meditation. Just once a day just to tune that up. Remind yourself of who you are and why you're here, and that you have all the power at your disposal.

Anytime you feel deflated or upset or that you have no power in this world, that's when you excuse yourself and you come back to that silent repetition of I am in the stillness of your inner temple. Finding that peace, finding that relaxation, finding that centering again, so that you're no longer bombarded by those thoughts that are reactions to things happening on the screen of space that are simply reflections of the past.

Everything you see on the screen of space remind yourself is something that is in the past. It's a reflection of past thinking. That you're no longer subject to the past because you remind yourself constantly. You were never subject to the past, but you'd forgotten that you had the power of I Am Within you.

Now you're remembering it, and this simple remembrance is the totality of the wisdom of all ancient, magical teachings distilled down into a very simple practice and understanding speak only truth when using. I am. Walk in faith knowing that your truth is already a reality in the invisible world, and the manifest version of that is in process.

The more you experience the manifestations occurring as a result of you doing this, the more faith you build for yourself. Every thought of I am invokes the sacred presence of the infinite. And if you live as evidence of what in the Bible is called the word made flesh, that's what you are. You want the same word to be spoken in you as what was spoken in Genesis when it said, let there be light and there was light.

That's how much power you have. It's not so much what you speak with your vocal chords, but the understanding of that I am within you is potential waiting for you to express what you desire, waiting for you to express what you will. And then you are this so-called word made flesh, and you are one of those magi walking on sacred ground everywhere you go because you're recognizing who you are as the divine child of the infinite.

And there is no holier person that ever has been or ever will be than you. Thank you so much for spending some time with me today. I so appreciate you. Until next time, blessed be.
